Absinth Ordinaire by Ulex, 700ml, 70% vol.

The legend says, that in 1792 a french doctor named Pierre Ordinaire invented Absinthe in Switzerland in purpose to create an elixier. Absinthe suddenly became popular, because the french soldiers in the campaigns of North-Africa had to drink Absinthe
regularily to stay powerful. Back at home in good ald France, they didn't want to miss the drink they had come to love. That's how Absinthe became THE drink of the society of the 19th century. Especially artists like for example Maupassant, Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, Gaugin, van Gogh, Manet  and Baudelaire used Absinthe for their inspiration. It was said to activate the spirit. Eponym for Absinthe was Artemisia Absinthium - Vermouth. It's one of the most important ingredients for this drink. Vermouth contains Thujon, which has an psychactive effect. That's why it was prohibeted in Germany after 1923.
Since 1998 Absinthe may be produced and sold again.
