Important for smoking a waterpipe is, that the piece of coal on the tobacco bowl is glowing steady-going. If the situation requires it, you might have to change the position of the coal. Of course, you can't do that with your fingers. So there are coal-grippers.
Normally they are somehow small, rusting and wearing out quickly.

The coal-gripper by Kaya is made of stainless steel and is giantic 30cm long.

You could proberbly take the  "Three-Kings"-barrel coal.
