The Master SON-T PIA lamp from Philips is a sodium discharging lamp of high quality with a longevity of about 16.000 hours (ca. 4 years). The charakteristical mark for all Master SON-T PIA lamps is the sintered striking aid on the aluminium oxide-burner. This is the reason for a simple but strong, solid and shock-resistant construction with only 6 or 7 weld spots per lamp.
When installing the base, no leaded solders are in use, therefore the lamps are totally lead-free.
SON PIA lamps stand out due to hogh longevity and very high steadiness. Additionally the Master SON-T PIA lamp has an increased luminious flux and due to that a higher effectiveness. The ballast you constitute in combination with the lamp should be in accordance with the IEC norm.
In all SON PIA lamps the aluminium oxide-burner is filled with xenon and sodium-amalgam (exept of the hg-free lamps) and integrated into an evacuated soft- or hardglass-bulb.
A high effective getter made of an alloy of zirconium and aluminium makes sure, that the good quality of the vaccum in the outside-bulb remains. This contributes to the fact, that the burner works perfectly as long as the lamp lasts and therefore the luminious flux remains ceaseless.
A standard E40 base is used for the Master SON-T PIA.
