A silencer intention is to prevent sonic from spreading fast and wide. The silencer can work in two different ways: Absorbtion and/or reflexion.
This silencer uses absorbtion by directing the sound into the tube, where it penetrates the porous inner wall. Behind this wall there is absorbtion wool, which "swallows" the sound waves. Inside the silencer, sound waves simply stop existing.
