The wall thickness of your glassbong indicates how thick the glass of your bong is. Of course, a thicker glass is much more shatter-proof than thin glass. It depends on what you're doing with the bong, how sturdy it has to be, and how thick the glass has to be. On the other hand, bongs with a higher wall thickness are more expensive than thin ones.
A thickness 3.2mm and 4mm for your bong is a suitable sturdy size,that is not so easy to detroy. A good base for a daily use.
